The late Pranab Mukherjee

Pranab Mukherjee, the only Bengali to rise in Raisina Hill, fell asleep today. Although he won the war as a successful Bengali in politics and economics, but he could not win this battle anymore. On the night of August 9, Pranab Babu fell in the toilet at his Delhi home. The next morning he had some neurological problems. He was rushed to the hospital on the advice of doctors. An MRI scan showed a blood clot inside his head. The doctors decided to operate on an emergency basis. But the condition did not improve after the surgery. From August 13, he went into a deep coma. As became embroiled in a series of crises - bleeding from the brain and surgery on the one hand, and coronary heart disease on the other. Pranab Mukherjee, the most successful Bengali in post-independence all-India politics and former President of the country, breathed his last at the Army Hospital Research and Referral in Delhi. He was about 85 years old. His son Abhijit Mukherjee tweeted the news around 6.15 pm on Monday.

The President, Vice President and Prime Minister have expressed deep grief over the death of Pranab Babu. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Trinamool leader Mamata Banerjee also expressed their grief by tweeting.

The central government has already declared seven days of state mourning over the death of Pranab Mukherjee, the country's only successful former Bengali president. Besides, all government institutions in the state will be closed tomorrow and if for some reason Pranab Babu's funeral is not completed tomorrow, there will be a public holiday on the day it will be. This was stated by Home Secretary of West Bengal Alapan Bandyopadhyay.

He had been suffering from diabetes for a long time. After being admitted to the hospital on the 10th August, he was found to be infected with Covid-19. Despite being attacked by Covid, a long operation was carried out that night and since then Pranab Mukherjee has been kept on ventilation.
